About

Our Mission

To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

Message from the President

I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve as President of the National Society of Black Engineers Austin Professionals Chapter (formerly known as Austin Alumni Chapter of NSBE). The legacy of our chapter is evident in the standing relationships within the community, partnerships with fellow professional organizations within Austin, and the impact we have had on local students with our pre-college initiative programs. With a strong Executive Board filled with professionals who take the mission statement to heart, I believe NSBE AP can continue to build on its previous successes and to have lasting impact on the Greater Austin area. Thank you.

Our History

The National Society of Black Engineers was founded in 1975 by a group of engineering students at Purdue University now known as the “Chicago Six.”NSBE’s full history can be found on the national website. The Austin Alumni Chapter was founded in 1990.
